The part nobody quotes
Most deck failures start under the boards
A resurface over rotten joists looks perfect on handover day and fails in year three. We inspect the framing, the ledger and the footings first, and we tell you what we found before you sign, not after demolition starts.
- Framing, ledger and footing inspection on every estimate
- Written scope, so a change order is a decision and not a surprise
- If the frame is sound we resurface, and the 15% applies
- If it is not, you get the real number instead of the pretty one
Choosing a colour
One deck. Two colours. Drag it.
Same house, same railing, same afternoon. The only thing that changes is the board. This is the comparison you cannot get from a sample chip in your hand or two photos of two different houses.

Weathered grey

One deck, twelve boards. Colour visualisation, so only the board changes. Real installs are in the gallery.
Why composite
Thirty years of the same deck you were sold
Composite resists rot, mold, fading and splintering. It never needs painting or staining. The material is eco friendly and it does not splinter under bare feet in August. You buy it once, and then you use it.
What we build with
Five decking lines. One standard of install.
The board is a choice. The framing under it is not negotiable. Every line below gets the same structure, the same fasteners and the same crew.
Trex
The line we install more than any other, and the reason we hold Platinum status. Trex carries a 25 to 50 year limited warranty depending on the line.
12 options installed →
Fiberon
Deep, layered grain patterns and a cooler surface temperature than most capped composites. A strong choice for full sun decks with no shade structure.
4 options installed →
Azek
Not a composite at all. Azek is capped PVC with no wood flour in it, which means nothing in the board can absorb water. The premium answer for docks, pool surrounds and full salt exposure.
1 option installed →
Wolf
A serious board at a friendlier number. Wolf covers the gap between pressure treated and premium composite without giving up the capped surface.
2 options installed →
Envision
The most aggressive wood grain texture we carry. If you want people to walk up and touch the board to check whether it is real, this is the one.

Lesner Pointe Condominiums
A full commercial deck installation at a Virginia Beach condominium community. Shared structures, occupied units, scheduled access and a finish that has to satisfy an entire board, not one homeowner.

Hampton Roads
Built for the people who got stationed here and stayed
Norfolk. Oceana. Langley. Fort Eustis. Little Creek. Yorktown. The Shipyard. This is one of the most military dense regions in the country, and half our schedule runs on somebody's orders, not their calendar.
- 5% military discount on top of the 15% installation special
- PCS timelines honored, including hard move out dates
- Remote approval so a deployed spouse is not a bottleneck
- Guidance on financing a deck inside a VA renovation loan
Installation special
15% off your entire job, plus another 5% for everyone who served.
- 15% off the entire job on deck resurfacing
- An additional 5% military discount, active duty, Guard, Reserve, retired and veteran
- 100% price match against any written estimate from a TrexPro Platinum and Class A contractor
Discount applies to deck resurfacing. Full terms in the footer.
Price match
100% price match, and we will show you the math.
Bring us a written estimate from any contractor who holds both TrexPro Platinum accreditation and a Virginia Class A license, on the same scope and the same materials, and we will match it 100%. Both credentials matter. Platinum is fewer than 1% of Trex installers, and Class A is what lets a contractor legally take on a job this size in Virginia. Comparing our number to an unlicensed bid is not a comparison, it is a different product.
- TrexPro PlatinumFewer than 1% of Trex installers hold it. We do.
- Virginia Class ALicense #2705202235. No job size cap.
- Same scope, same boardsLine for line, so the comparison is real.

Siding and Trim
We started with decks. Homeowners kept asking who they should call for the siding. So we built that crew too, and held it to the same standard.

Railing and Cable
You did not buy a waterfront lot to look at balusters. Cable, glass and slim profile composite rail keep the code compliant and the sightline intact.

Deck Drainage
A drainage system installed between the joists sends the water away before it reaches the ceiling below. You gain dry storage, a covered patio, or somewhere to put the grill when it rains.

Fencing and Concrete
Fence lines, walkways, patio slabs and the footings that hold everything else up. Handled by the same company that built the deck, so nobody points at anyone else when something settles.

FAQ
Straight answers
Who builds composite decks in Hampton Roads?
American Composite Deck Pros is a TrexPro Platinum composite deck builder serving all of Hampton Roads and the Richmond metro from three Virginia offices. We hold Virginia Class A Contractor license #2705202235 and have installed more than 3,000 decks.
How much does a composite deck cost in Virginia?
Cost depends on square footage, height off the ground, railing type, stairs and the condition of the existing framing. A resurface over sound framing costs considerably less than a full tear out and rebuild, which is why we inspect the frame before quoting rather than pricing by the square foot over the phone. Estimates are free and done in person.
Do you offer a military discount?
Yes. Active duty, Guard, Reserve, retired and veteran customers receive an additional 5% on top of the standard 15% installation discount.
Will you match another contractor's price?
Yes, 100%. Bring us a written estimate from a contractor who holds both TrexPro Platinum accreditation and a Virginia Class A license, covering the same scope and the same materials, and we will match it. Both credentials are part of the condition because an unlicensed or non Platinum bid is not the same product.
How long does a deck take to build?
Most residential decks are finished in three to seven working days once materials are on site. Larger multi level builds, commercial work and jobs needing framing replacement run longer. We give you a real window at the estimate.
